I highly recommend this book - it's a great story, not just for people who have experienced loss. It's a story of hope and understanding our own unique place in this universe.

It is surprising how few books there are that deal with firsthand accounts of grief, especially of a parent, when it is such a universal experience. The Butterfly Years fills that gap in a beautiful, honest way.

I'm not currently mourning the loss of a loved one, but I know I will at some point in my life. I will return to this book to help me work through what I know will be a very challenging time. Thank you!

Thank you so much for your book! I know you intended it for people overcoming a loss of a loved one, but I feel it can be applied to overcoming a grief of every lost or unrealized dream, project, relationship, business etc. We as Creators create a lot and thus lose a lot. All for a good reason or a cause but yet we might grieve it deeply inside unable to share or process. You give the hope. You give the courage. You give the right to mourn what is a natural way of life, but still hurts like hell to lose. Thank you for this permission. I needed it ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

What a beautiful story that takes place around the world. Sharing the author's personal story of moving through grief with hope. Losing three loved ones in a short time and finding her way back to a life full of meaning and love, honoring those lost with beautiful words and stories, and also sharing the challenges and humanity of living with illness, death, and moving forward in one's own life. A powerful book for anyone struggling with loss and grief.

I bought a copy of The Butterfly Years, based on a recommendation on social media. It turns out they were right! Katty's book is not only helpful, but also hopeful. She describes her own grief in detail, journaling how she was able to cope with it, the length of time it took and ways to address so many of the issues. Her honesty and willingness to share her story made it all the more real, palpable and effective. It wasn't platitudes, but authentic emotions and suggestions for ways to cope. Mostly, it was reassuring to see the words on paper that expressed what I was feeling. It was comforting to know that someday the pain will be less sharp and I may have hope again.

This is an intimate and compelling story of a deeply bonded family experiencing the joy of their relationships and the devastating loss they suffered individually and as a family. Despite the sadness of the matriarch's passing, the reader is given insights to the life, travels and accomplishments of the extraordinary author. The book deeply explores the depths of grief but then provides paths to hope and healing.
